A Few Celestia URLs: Looking Around Philmont

Reminder: these are just a few examples of locations you can GoTo. Please read the Celestia User's Guide to learn how to navigate.

Note: the translucent cubes floating around represent the various camps. Unfortunately, many camp positions don't have a valid altitude, so they're floating at an altitude of 4KM.

Overviews of Philmont

• Looking down on Philmont from above, north at top
  The viewpoint above shows (hard to read) camp names.
  • They'll separate as you increase magnification: hold down the "comma" key (,)
  • To decrease magnification, hold down the "period" key (.)
  • To change what's centered in Celestia's window, hold down the left-mouse-button and move the mouse

• Philmont: East is up, camps are white spots
  • Left-mouse-button-click on a spot to see a camp's name displayed in the upper left corner of Celestia's window.
    
  • Right-mouse-button-click on a spot and select "Info" for a description of the camp. (Some don't work.)
  • To have a box drawn around each of the staffed camps, select (double-click on) the file philmont-topo-v1/mark_staffed_camps.cel
