Optimization of Storage Ring Optics - D. Rubin - 2003

Optimization of storage ring optics and analysis of dynamics 
for CESRc will depend on extensive simulation, especially tune 
scans and long term tracking studies. We have developed a very 
detailed model of the accelerator guide field and software to 
explore the parameter space. 

The REU student in consultation with his advisor will:
 
1. Create a matrix of configurations to evaluate with the 
simulation tools.

2. Run the simulations, characterizing the results with graphics
(and other means) and developing new diagnostics as necessary

3. Create a web page that documents the results of the simulations

4. Identifies promising operating points
