Duties of the Lattice Czar as agreed to by DCS and DLR

1. When Ring_master.dat gets updated a new bmad layout file needs to be produced.
   Name Convention: layout_c_6wig_yyyy-mm-dd.bmad
2. The layout file needs to be ported to unix and put in the repository.
3. A decision must be made whether to update the old lattice files to call the new layout file.
   Proposal:
   i) If the layout was generated to fix an error then new lattice file should have the same name as the present layout file.
   ii) If not then create new lattices with the new layout file.
   

After a lattice is designed...

4. When a new lattice is designed one must make sure that:
   • The lattice name matches the file name.
   • The overlays are taken out.
   • All the appropriate groups are defined in a timely manner so that old group coefficients are not used with the new lattice.
   • Check that magnet commands are reasonable.
5. The lattice needs to be put in the repository.
6. The lattice needs to be ported back to VMS and the Taylor maps calculated. Use [cesr.mjf.programs]make_digested_dp and make_digested_sp
7. Run latdat on VMS.
