2010.03.19 - Tune Scan Analysis

Summary:

bmad_chess_20090225.lat

Tune scan over 1/2 - 2/3 tune plane, at "fine" resolution (dQ = 5.e-4). No misalignments yet.

Color scales: x_cutoff = 2.5; y_cutoff = 2.5.

CHESS Optics with "1%" Sextupole Errors

Using the ideal CHESS lattice, introduce sextupole [K2] errors at the same amplitude as in previous (CesrTA) tune scans. That is, 1% * 1.2 = 0.012.

Xquneing to Different Chromaticities

When 1% sextupole gradient errors are introduced on the cta_2085mev_xr20m_20091205 lattice, the chromaticities change slightly. (xi.x, xi.y) changes from (0.968,1.656) to (1.619,1.689). Use xquneing 1,2 to change these chromaticities to the "new" (1% sext. ma) values, and re-run tune scan.

Compare to the original (unperturbed, ideal) lattice:
