CLASSE is working in concert with University leadership to monitor the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and provide guidance and resources for students, faculty and staff within the laboratory. The health, safety and well-being of our community is our highest priority. As new information becomes available it will be shared on the University's Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resources and Updates website.
A dedicated hotline has been created to connect members of our community with campus resources. It can be reached by calling 607-255-0101 between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
As of Wednesday, March 18th, CLASSE research will go into a stand-by state, after which on-campus research activities will be limited to maintaining key equipment.
This measure, which will continue indefinitely, is intended to maximize "social distancing” in order to preserve best the health and welfare of all staff, students and faculty.
To respond, CLASSE has transitioned key equipment into an “idle” status, and we plan for ongoing maintenance. CHESS operations have ended on Monday, and our staff is working remotely.
We appreciate your flexibility in adapting to these changing conditions. These measures, while unusual and inconvenient, are motivated by a desire to contain the spread of the virus and preserve the health of our lab and community.
