CLASSE stands for Cornell Laboratory for Accelerator-based ScienceS and Education

Detector R&D

As accelerators continue to achieve remarkable advancements, detector technology becomes increasingly vital. Researchers need detectors that can seamlessly harness these intensified beam currents, providing swift and comprehensive phase-space data for experiments. Enhancements in detector technology enable us to peer into the atomic-scale structure and properties of materials, unraveling mysteries that were once beyond our reach.

At CLASSE, we're dedicated to fostering this symbiotic relationship between accelerators and detectors, propelling us into new realms of scientific discovery.

CLASSE Researchers work closely with the Detector Group laboratory at Cornell, led by Physics Professors Julia Thom-Levy  and Sol Gruner.
