My research is in the field of accelerator physics and elementary particle physics . We investigate the dynamics of particle beams in the Cornell Electron-Positron Storage Ring (CESR). Our studies are enabled by the development of state of the art instrumentation. Interpretation relies on the theoretical and numerical tools that we create. We are also involved in the study of the beam physics peculiar to electron-positron linear colliders. And while the time scale for physics from a linear collider is at least a decade away, we have recently joined the new muon g-2 collaboration to build an experiment to measure the magnetic moment of the muon with 0.14 ppm precision, and results anticipated in the next four or five years.
