2010.03.16 - Tune Scan Analysis

Summary:

cta_2085mev_xr20m_20091205.lat With Sextupole [K2] Errors

Repeat "1% sextupole K2 error" tune scan from 2010.03.11, using a finer resolution. (Previously, dQ = 2.e-3. Now, dQ = 5.e-4). Use standard amplitudes:

Color scales: x_cutoff = 2.5; y_cutoff = 2.5.

Compare to the ideal (error-free) lattice:

Vary RF Voltage

Using the ideal XR20m lattice, change total RF voltage from 6.4MV to 3MV and 8MV. Run high-resolution (dQ = 5.e-4) tune scans on both.

2009.12.22 Measurements

Overlay the "beamsize vs. tunes" measurements from 2009.12.22 (eLog entry) onto the ideal 1/2-2/3 tune plane. Color scales for the tune plane and measurements are not identical, but are proportional. (red measurement is means larger beamsize than blue measurement, etc.)
