Current project

My current project is D0 experiment based at Fermi National Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois, USA. I'm a member of software development group and I'm responsible for track propagation in the D0 detector using so-called Interacting Propagator (if you would like know more about this, please visit my Physics page). At the moment the current software contains 266 individual packages and over 500 classes. Data are expected starting 2001 and around xxx TeraBytes will be recordered during five years. UNIX resources on site include the centrally supported systems fnalu, batch systems, UNIX farms, mass storage systems, experiment-specific UNIX clusters such as the CDF and D0 UNIX systems, data acquisition systems, the ACPMAPS supercomputer, as well as desktop UNIX systems. Current system of D0 experiment are SGI workstation and Linux/PC running RedHat 5x. 6.x. The typical physical event looks like:

Typical Z->mm event in D0 detector. Green lines represent the actual tracks of physics particles. Shapes are pieces of Silicon microstrip detector.

All graphics are performed using
OpenInventor.
