Travel to Ithaca

If you plan to fly here, there is a small airport in Ithaca, Tompkins County Airport (ITH). Both conference hotels offer a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle. Taxis are also available at the airport.

In some cases it might be substantially cheaper and more convenient to fly to the Syracuse Airport (SYR). There is a door-to-door shuttle service between SYR and Ithaca that takes approximately 75 minutes and costs $110 round-trip. Rental cars are also available at both ITH and SYR.

A Ride Board has been set up so people arriving in Syracuse or other nearby airports can arrange to share rental cars. If you have space in a car, or are seeking space with someone else, enter your arrival and departure times and airport in this google doc.

There is a bus connection between New York City (Midtown Manhattan) and Cornell's Ithaca campus, by Cornell C2C Bus. It takes approximately 5 hours. The Cornell bus provides a business-class standard of service, with comfortable seats, complimentary coffee and snacks, and wireless internet access.

For those who prefer to drive, Ithaca is within driving distance from a number of metropolitan areas: New York City (about 5 hours); Boston (6 hours); Baltimore (6 hours); Montreal (7 hours); Philadelphia (5 hours); Toronto (5 hours).
