CLASSE Ph.D. Student Ryan Porter Wins Young Investigator Prize at SRF '19
As CLASSE Ph.D student Ryan Porter advances his research towards triniobium-tin cavities at Cornell, he is being recognized for his work in the field. This month, Ryan was awarded the Young Investigator Prize at the SRF '19 conference in Dresden. Ryan was selected based on his research and talk at the conference on "Field Limitations in Nb3Sn Cavities". The Young Investigator Prize for the best talk is quite competitive. First, only a select few speakers are invited to talk at the conference, and only two prizes for the best oral presentation are given. The criteria for which the winners are selected are based on:- Relevance and impact of the scientific work,
- Novelty and quality of the scientific work,
- Quality of the poster and oral presentation,
- Interaction and professionalism towards the IPC.
