Assoc. Prof. Matthias Liepe

Lead research on a broad range of topics related to radio-frequency (RF) superconductivity. Current research focuses on basic SRF research, including high field and high Q superconductivity, the RF critical magnetic field, new superconducting materials for SRF applications (Nb3Sn, MgB2), SRF technology for the Cornell ERL, the International Linear Collider, and Project X, higher-order-modes and beam-breakup in SRF cavities, and RF field stabilization at highest loaded quality factors. Project leader of the ERL Horizontal Test Cryostat program, which studies SRF cavity operation at highest quality factors.
