D-Hadronic Analysis - 9.03

Table of Contents

Overview

Objective
Reproduce the 281/pb signal MC in new release.
Environment
The CLEOG simulation was done in release 20080624_MCGEN. The PASS2 reconstruction was done in 20041104_MCP2_A_1 ( see CodeReleases description ). The NTuple was created with the HadronicDNTupleProc module compiled in release 20080228_FULL.
Summary
We traced several places in order to find the source of the MC difference. The whole process of this procedure can be viewed as a diagram below. There are three places which account for the change, (indicated yellow in the diagram). A grand comparison table was made to summarize (see table ).

We figured that to fit the new signal MC, one has to use new lineshape function along with a few new parameters and tweaking a factor in the fitting code. A detailed description and a summary table can be seen at table. From there, we knew that the biggest resource of this difference comes from the updated DECAY.DEC file.

Comparing the DECAY.DEC file between 'Original' (2005) and the 'Defult' (2008), we can see that for D^+, there were 59 modes unchanged (common modes), but all of their decay ratios have been changed (see table ). 14 modes were removed (see table ), and 30 new modes were added (see table). For D0, there were 72 modes unchanged (see table ), 7 modes added (see table), and 56 new modes added (see table).

A similar comparison table for the evt.pdl files between 'Original' and 'Default' can be seen at table . Certain particles related with the DHad decay are selected in this table (see table).

Diagram
The process of tracing the MC difference. The "Yellow" process in the diagram means the sources contribute to the yield difference in MC.
